Storyline

PLOT
Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) is a successful, happily married 'NEW YORK' attorney living in Manhattan when he meets Alexandra (Alex) Forrest who is played by (Glenn Close), an editor for a publishing company, through business. While his wife (Anne Archer) and daughter (Ellen Hamilton Latzen) are out of town for the weekend, Dan has an affair with Alex. Though Dan thought it would be a simple fling, Alex begins clinging to him.
Alex's mental instability surfaces quickly when she attempts suicide after Dan explains that he must go home. Dan thinks the affair is forgotten, but Alex shows up at various places to see him. She waits at his office one day to apologize and invite him to the opera madama butterfly, but he turns her down. She then calls Dan's office until he tells his secretary he will no longer take her calls. Alex then calls Dan's home at all hours and informs him that she is pregnant and plans to keep the baby. Although Dan wants nothing to do with her, she argues that he must take responsibility. Alex shows up at Dan's apartment (which is for sale) and meets his wife, Beth, feigning interest as a buyer. Later that night, Dan goes to Alex's apartment to confront her about her actions. In response, she replies that she will not be ignored.
Dan moves his family to the New York village of Bedford, but this doesn't deter Alex. She has a voice recording delivered to Dan filled with verbal abuse. She stalks him in a parking garage, pours acid on his vehicle, and follows him home one night to spy on him, Beth, and their daughter Ellen from the bushes in his yard the sight of their family life literally makes her sick to her stomach. Alex's obsession eventually turns into madness. Dan approaches the police to apply for a restraining order against Alex (claiming that it is "for a client"), to which a police lieutenant claims that he cannot violate Alex's rights without probable cause and that the adulterer has to own up to his adultery.Alex then decides to eliminate what she sees as her main obstacle: Beth. While Beth is in the bathroom, Alex attacks her with a chef's knife. Dan hears the screaming and runs in, wrestles Alex into the bathtub and seemingly drowns her. She suddenly emerges from the water, swinging the knife. Beth, who went searching for Dan's gun, shoots Alex in the chest, killing her.

HOW DOES THIS FILM RELATE TO OUR FILM IN THE MAKING?....

fatal attraction has the similar story line to ours for 'Trapped in Love' as in fatal attraction two people are the main characters and one of the characters are fully in love with the other character. at the beginning of fatal attraction it starts out wonderful everything is calm and usual but by the end of the film it is completely changed, turned into a dramatic point, everything is messed up and the characters are distort. The the character Alex has a mental instability which surfaces quickly when she attempts suicide after Dan explains that he must go home, within the film the character 'Alex' is the one who is in love with 'Dan', as alex has a mental condition she becomes obsessed with 'Dan' but within our one 'Danny' is obsessed with the girl 'Leila' so we plans out to meet her and get to know her more and make her to fall in love with him so that she will trust him, the twist is that 'Danny' is the obsessed character BUT does not love 'Leila' turns out 'Leila' loves 'Danny' but she what she doesn't know is that 'Danny' is a unstable person and has mental instability who goes round torturing/killing girls. the mental instability is similar.

TITLE SEQUENCE
The title sequence of 'Fatal Attraction' begins with a few black slides which have white and simple writing on them. firstly we are introduced to the distributor of the film which is ' Paramount pictures'. We then get an introduction of the producer which is 'Jaffe/Lansing', following by the introduction of main characters, who are named by their real names. After the introduction to the main people the film name is shown to us. We then get a extreme long shot, which pans right. This shows us silhouettes of buildings and an orange sky. We are also able to see lights in the buildings, which may represent the people living in the town. The black silhouettes hide the towns identity and there for it is hard to tell what town it is. This may be used to make the audience want to find out where the film may be based at. The darkness also represents the fact of the film being filmed at night time. The fact of it being night is also very clear due to the fact of  very quiet sounds being heard, such as the wind and dogs barking. We are also able to heard some car noises and this may let the audience know that this film is based in a quite big city/town, as big city members are most likely to own cars. The fact of it being dark is also a very good way for the audience to view the credits on the screen, this is because they are white and quite big, therefore they stand out rather well in the dark background. While the camera keeps panning right we get introduced to the other main pupils which took part in the film/film making. These people would be the casting people, the musicians, costume designers, the editors, production designers, directors of photography, producers and the directors. As all of the main pupils involved have been introduced the camera is still panning to the right but it is panning down at the same down. This is where we get introduced to to the one of the main characters 'Beth' (Anne Archer), this introduction is done by zooming into one of the light windows where she shuts the curtain. This title sequence has been very cleverly made as the audience have no choice but to read the credits, this is because they are the objects that stand out the most during the 2 minute sequence. This is because the town/city cannot be viewed as well as no sound has been added which would distract the audience. However this is also a bad idea as it does not interest the audience as much, this is because the view of the city is rather similar during the whole time while the camera is panning right.
